Pillow Shams are decorative pillow covers designed to sit atop your coverlet comforter, or duvet cover, and complement your bed ensemble. For this reason, they are normally made of either satin, or a designer fabric. Several options are available for finishing your shams, including a ruffled, corded, flanged, or knife-edge finish. The trim is either done in the same fabric as the body of the sham, or else a complementary color or pattern. Pillow shams are not normally used with a bedspread, since the bedspread has extra length at the head of the bed to accommodate a pillow-tuck. Pillow shams can be finished with the same types of trim as decorator pillows: Corded, flanged, ruffled, or plain knife-edge.Normally, pillow shams are designed to hold a standard, queen, or king sized bed pillow, however custom sizes and shapes are available upon request. All pillow shams are quilted. If you have a preference in quilting patterns, please let your sales representative know. Normally, the pattern of the fabric will dictate which quilting design is used. Pillow shams are usually secured with an envelope closure on the back, with overlapping flaps of fabric securing the pillow within. A zipper closure is available for a small additional charge.
